The Effect of Age on Psychological Aging in the Elderly: The Mediated moderation Effect of Social Aging through Physical Aging

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data on policy development to support healthy aging by revealing the relationship structure between physical aging, psychological aging and social aging among the elderly aged 65 or older. For this purpose, psychological aging was set as a dependent variable, age as an independent variable, physical aging as a mediating variable, and social aging as a moderating variable. And the mediated moderation effect of social aging on the effects of age on psychological aging through physical aging was verified. The analysis data are the 2017 National survey of older koreans. As a result of the analysis, age interacted with social aging and had a positive effect on psychological aging and physical aging. physical aging mediated the effects of age on psychological aging.
In the process of age affecting psychological aging through physical aging, it has been shown that there is a mediated moderation effect of social aging. Therefore, various programs and support are needed to promote face-to-face and non-face-to-face social activities of the elderly so that they can lead a healthy aging for as long as possible.
